Approved Changes MODS 3.7 (January 4th, 2018)

  1. Provide the capability to specify an authority for the publisher (addition of authority, authorityURI and valueURI to the publisher subelement)

  2. Remove controlled-list restriction from typeOfResource so that any value may be supplied (addition of authority, authorityURI, valueURI and xml:lang to typeOfResource element)

  3. Addition of @calendar to <dateIssued> <dateCreated> <dateCaptured> <dateValid> <dateModified> <CopyrightDate> and <dateOther> subelements

  4. Addition of normalization guidelines for specifying units, for example “pages” rather than “page” (change to the guidelines and XSLT, not the schema)

  5. Alternative names
